Google has introduced a new subscription tier for its Gemini AI service, aiming to make advanced AI tools more accessible in emerging markets. Currently available only in Indonesia, the plan is called Google AI Plus and is priced at IDR 75,000 per month (around $4.50).
To encourage adoption, Google is running a six-month promotional period during which the subscription costs half that amount. The company has not announced a timeline for international expansion, instead planning to evaluate demand and performance in Indonesia before extending availability.
The AI Plus plan sits below the existing AI Pro subscription, which costs $20 per month, and the high-end AI Ultra plan, priced at $250 per month. While more affordable, AI Plus provides a reduced set of benefits compared to its higher-priced counterparts.

According to details shared on Google’s Indonesian support page, the plan is expected to allow up to 25 prompts per day, whereas AI Pro offers 100 and the free version only five. The context window for AI Plus is capped at 128,000 tokens, compared to 1 million for Pro and Ultra, and 32,000 for free users.
Subscribers also receive 200GB of Google One storage, enhancing its appeal for users who need additional cloud capacity. A notable feature of the plan is limited access to multimedia tools, including video generation through Veo 3 Fast (preview), as well as Whisk and Flow for creative tasks. Users can also perform up to 100 image generations or edits per day, which aligns with the capabilities of the free tier but may be enhanced by priority access.
AI Plus members gain access to Gemini 2.5 Pro’s Deep Research, though in a restricted form, and benefit from integrations across Gmail, Docs, and Sheets. Audio Overviews remain available to all users, regardless of subscription status. One additional incentive for paying customers is priority access to certain new features, giving AI Plus subscribers a slight edge over free users in trying experimental tools.
